Inspirational YOU speaker – Michelle Moore (Education, Sport and Youth Consultant) – Saturday 30th June 2012

Michelle will hosting the Leading ladies: Never give up panel on Saturday 30th June 2012 at Birkbeck, University of London.

Michelle is a highly experienced professional self-starter working in the areas of sport, education, community and diversity.  She is passionate about sport as a tool for social change and is an independent Development Consultant and also works as a Senior Executive in local government. Michelle has held a range of posts with academic, vocational, pastoral and advisory responsibilities and worked as an Assistant Headteacher in a secondary school.

Her consultancy Moore Development specialises in education, community, diversity and sport projects. Her portfolio includes developing a schools engagement strategy for the Black Cultural Archives; sourcing sponsorship for an Olympic athlete for the 2012 Games and organising the successful project launch for The Connie Henry Track Academy with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

She is recognised for her vision and creation of new and innovative ways to support change in schools, council services and community organisations; where she has received awards for outstanding work. Michelle is currently responsible for the strategic management of a portfolio of school improvement strategies and curriculum subjects, including developing a 2012 Olympic Games schools’ strategy. In previous roles she has worked in a premiership football club and community organizations; developing sustainable community sports and education programmes for young people and the communities they come from.

Michelle has an MA in Education and has written education anti-racism resources for schools. She is a trustee for the Runnymede Trust and sits on the Management Board for The Connie Henry Track Academy.
