Throughout her career, she has represented at numerous speaking events and judged for The Broadcast Digital Awards and RTS to name a few. Her portfolio covers a variety of genres from sport, youth programming and gaming through to film, music and entertainment TV. This has led to her delivering some of the biggest and most notable UK and global brand propositions.

 

Now Founder and Director of Yellow Dot Media she has recently launched a creative consultancy aiming at creating content that target youth and popular culture.

 

Her previous role was as a Production Director at Channel 4 / The Box Plus Network. (4Music, Kiss, Kerrang, BeBox, Magic, The Box, Box Hits, Box Up Front) Where she was responsible for 5 areas of the business; programming, commercial, marketing, tv production, digital production and leads on original content for brands. Athena has driven forward numerous new shows and digital campaigns.

 

Before joining The Box Plus Network, in 2016, Witter was the former Head of ITV’s Digital Studios for Entertainment, Comedy & Drama. With a plethora of experience, past work includes, The X Factor, The Voice, Britain’s Got Talent, Love Island, I’m A Celebrity..Get Me Out Of Here, Saturday Night Takeaway, Downton Abbey, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and TOWIE.

 

Previously her experience oversaw the digital partnership for MTV Viacom and Swatch Watches, a vibrant brand and youth culture project. Other companies were Virgin, Sky were she delivered the first Battlestar Galactica behind-the-scenes red button experience. She also worked for EndemolUK where she oversaw Big Brother amongst other big tv programmes for digital execution.

 

 

Some of her achievements include:

 

  • Driving ‘Trending Live’, currently the only live youth magazine show on TV
  • Led on a yearlong campaign series, ‘Box Fresh’ supporting brand new music and emerging artists
  • Hosted a ‘Box Fresh’ live gig event at The Great Escape festival in Brighton; the first live broadcast from the festival
  • Delivered an award nominated series called I AM with River Island
  • Creating and delivering the biggest downloaded second-screen participation apps like Love Island, X Factor, BGT & I’m A Celebrity

 

With a zeal of experience in editorial strategy, production, branded content, TV, digital, VR, 360, commissioning, app development, original content, social media, marketing, budget management, live TV and integrated Digital TV propositions. She has a high level of commercial acumen and maintains extensive knowledge of the industry, understanding compliance, rights, legal and content ownership. Athena has an eye for what’s new, creative and workable in a television and digital environment.
